My Day Off...and I need fashion advice!
My first day off since January 1st.
It is now 3:31PM...I did not have a day planned per se...but I did want to spend some time doing a little of what I liked here and there.
Rolled out of bed at 11am. At about that time, I normally would have been on the road to the store for my "short day." In the back of my mind, I keep thinking that people will have shown up for framing and we wouldn't be there. On the other hand, every fucking mall is closed on Easter here. I did put up a sign and changed my answering machine so people know.
Yesterday was a good day. Browneye and Hazymoonlight spent a good part of the day stretching canvasses...there are still 4 left to be stretched. Then it's cut the moulding and assemble.
Last night, Browneye and me went to a sushi dinner with some folks I used to work with. It's $13.95 all you can eat...good deal, although there is no sashimi. The rule is that you can order all you want, but you have to eat all you order. Any uneaten rice or fish you need to pay for.
I usually order just the right amount...about 9 pieces and 1 roll. Occasionally, I will go back for a few more pieces. Well...someone misconstrued something and I got 3 rainbow rolls!!! I could only eat one, but luckily, the restaurant did not charge me as they know me and us as a whole.

I could go for those 2 rolls now though.
Damn.
I turned down Easter dinner at my parents because I did not want to have to go anywhere or do anything on my day off. The bad news is that I miss a home cooked dinner. My mother cooks the best home cooked meals (it used to be my grandmother, but since my grandmother passed away, the torch has been passed to my mother).
I haven't had a home cooked meal in ages.
We have been living on Applebee's and Chili's (on the rare occasions that we have money)...it's hysterical to go through our wallets and to see if we have enough money to go to one of those places...otherwise it is usually Rotten Ronnie's. It is so bad that the employees there know us and what we order (a #9 meal with an extra fish sandwich besides, a #2 meal with no cheese, a diet coke and an ice tea). Occasionally, we'll hit Wendy's.
I should have bought a little veggie platter with dip that I could pick off of. I didn't have the foresight though as I was so excited about my day off.
Oh....and I need a bit of advice. We are going to a black tie event this Friday evening. I am wearing a shimmery purple cocktail dress with a long jacket. I bought blac, toe-less shoes (dressy sandals) to go with it. They are simple, but have a 4" stilletto heel.
What kind of stockings do I wear? Should I wear black stockings or natural color?
Please don't say no stockings as I have horrible legs and my dress is not long enough to cover them. And they are pasty white to boot.
Now...back to my day off. I don't want to waste it, so I have to think of what to do...I know I want to watch my KISS DVD and read a bit.
I don't want to waste a minute.
Oh...and I let my gold membership lapse. Should I renew?
