Terrorist Alert!
Ok...so I spent the entire day with my MIL.

First stop was motor vehicles, so she could get a NYS ID.

What a debacle.

I'm glad that we were able to prove she truly wasn't a terrorist...they require a SS card plus several other ID's. She didn't have "normal" ID's...all the utility bills are in my husband's name as is the house insurance. She had her marriage certificate, but that wasn't valid as it was issued by a church. She had a life insurance paper, a health ID...she was missing one point's worth of ID.

We were sent to a supervisor who approved her ID...then, went we went to pay at the other window, we had to go through the whole rigamarole again! And the same supervisor who signed before had to come by again and sign off. Again.

They were finally able to decide that she was not a terrorist. Not, at least in the sense that the government looks for.

After that, we headed to Macy*s. I wanted her to pick out her Xmas gift...so I let her loose while I roamed the mall. I picked up a 2 line cordless for the store at Radio Shack, a new boobie cage and matching panties at Lane Bryant, and then headed back to the spot where I told her I'd meet her, expecting her to be holding stuff.

She was holding nothing.

In my MIL's world, if you leave her in a store, there is only the floor that you leave her on. That's the only floor that exists.

She was looking for bedroom slippers, so we went down to the first floor...while she was there she bought a pair of winter boots. I then bought 2 pairs of shoes myself (at her coaxing).

After that....Applebee's for lunch.

I survived the day.
