Tielie.
An interesting day.
It's the first Sunday I have had in awhile where I do not have to be at work the next day.
I can't remember how long it has been since I have had a Sunday where I do not know when the next time it will be where do not *ever* have to show up to work on the monday.
Kinda weird.
I know that my weeks will get all structured and stuff...and I *do* have a list of things I need to do -- but this time it is different. I'll be doing things on my own time.
Damn this feels weird!
Another weird thing happened too, today.
5 years ago, I had bought a lutino cockatiel to celebrate my quitting smoking. I had originally named her "Manilow," but the name didn't fit, so I started calling her "Tielie" and my husband would call her "Tweet."
Last April, when we went away to Texas for 2 weeks, we brought her down to my MIL so that she would not be alone. My MIL loved the company and Tielie seemed happy there so we left her there. She got a whole lot more attention than she ever did with us.
My MIL would call her "Pretty Bird" and fuss over her.
Today, we all came back from the church fair after picking MIL up and there Tielie was at the bottom of her cage. I felt bad as she was obviously dead and MIL kept on trying to talk to her, saying that maybe she was sleeping.
We took her and Browneye made a coffin which we buried her in.
It was totally unexpected. She did not look sick at all.
She'll be missed.
